Our People
We pride ourselves on the personal attention we bring to every client's situation.  We adhere

Courts of New York State as well as the appropriate Federal Courts.  Our attorneys are
members of the New York Bar Association.  We have a strong staff of legal assistants and

Scott D. Staples

Scott came to the practice of law from a diverse background.  Prior to entering law school
Scott was a self employed Master Plumber in Rochester, New York for over fifteen years.  
Upon graduating from Union University's Albany Law School Scott worked with a major law
firm in Albany, New York where he specialized in construction law.  Starting in 1991 Scott
acted as in- house counsel to a development/construction firm located in Glens Falls, New
York.  Subsequent to the firm's completion of two hydroelectric projects having build-out
costs totaling over $200 Million, Scott established Staples Law Firm, P.C.

A resident of Minerva, New York for the past 17 years Scott enjoys the many recreational
opportunities that the Adirondacks has to offer.    

Frank V. DeSantis

Frank was born in Saratoga Springs, New York.  Educated at Clarkson College of
Technology (B.S. 1971) and Union University, Albany School of Law (J.D. 1975), Frank was
associated with a general practice law firm in Lake George, New York from 1975 until 1979
when he established his own office.  As a sole  practitioner Frank specialized in real estate
development and transactional law.  During this time, Frank served upon the Queensbury
Planning Board as both  member and Chairman.  Frank has taught Real Estate and
Banking Law  at Adirondack Community College and is a Past President of the Rotary in
Lake George, New York.  In 1991 Frank established a FM radio station licensed to
Warrensburg, New York, 100.3 FM and sold the station in 1996.  From 1996 until 2004 Frank
was Vice President of an Albany, New York based construction firm.  In 2004 Frank became
a partner in Staples Law Firm, P.C.  

Frank currently resides in Chestertown, New York with his wife Kate.  The DeSantises have
two grown children, Kara and Matt.


Thomas J. Forrest

Tom is a graduate of Colgate University and Albany law School, 1966.  Tom also graduated
from the United States Navel Officers Candidate School and served aboard the USS
Princeton LPH 5 and the USS Henrico APA 41.  A former principal and president of Rowley,
Forrest, O'Donnell & Beaumont P.C., Tom has substantial experience in the areas of wills,
estates as well as all types of litigation including personal injury, employment law and
contracts.  

Tom resides in North River with his wife, Susan.  The Forrests have three grown children,
John, Charlotte and Thomas, Jr..
